About

Liesbet currently runs an independent advisory firm that provides consulting and investment advisory services to foundations and international donor organizations with regards to the strategic development and investment management aspects of their international development activities. The firm aims to introduce and apply key business concepts, fund utilization efficiency and financial transparency from the private equity industry and private sector into the field of international development without jeopardizing the social objectives and impact of international philanthropy. Previously, Liesbet worked at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank, as an Investment Officer for its Grassroots Business Initiative (GBI). At GBI, she was responsible for GBI's West Africa Program, assisting micro enterprise development projects in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Nigeria. She also assisted GBI's clients in Cambodia, India, and Nepal on developing income generating activities for survivors of human trafficking.
