About

Jennifer received her Bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University, with a double major in Materials Science Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as a minor in Industrial Design. At Carnegie Mellon, she was president of the Materials Advantage student chapter and was involved in undergraduate research for bone tissue engineering, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh. Jennifer is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of California, San Diego. Her work involves the development of a naturally derived scaffold for cardiac tissue engineering, which may become a new treatment for myocardial infarction and heart failure. In addition to research at UCSD, Jennifer served as president of the Bioengineering Graduate Society, where she worked to establish industry and alumni connections, as well as enhance graduate student professional development.
