About

Evan is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT, jointly advised by Professors Daniel Anderson and Robert Langer. His research applies AI and robotics to engineer more potent and targeted lipid nanoparticles as nonviral delivery vehicles for vaccines and gene therapies. Prior to MIT, Evan received joint B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, where he developed a new brain atlas and neuroimaging models integrated into surgical planning workflows at the Yale Epilepsy Surgery Program. Evan is focused on addressing unmet clinical needs both through translational research in the lab and community-based advocacy, a commitment reflected in his volunteer work founding and leading two campaigns with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt that erased $2 million in medical debt for more than 1,200 Massachusetts residents in need. At MIT, he has been a Teaching Assistant for two courses, mentored undergraduate research projects, served on his dorm’s executive committee, and received the Wishnok Prize for best seminar talk in his cohort. In his spare time, Evan enjoys traveling, hiking, building websites, and playing intramural sports.
