Xiaochen Zhu is a graduate student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, advised by Prof. Srinivas Devadas. His research focuses on privacy-preserving machine learning, where he aims to identify and mitigate privacy vulnerabilities in machine learning algorithms and systems through theoretical analysis and practical protocol design. His work has appeared in top academic conferences, and his research has been recognized by the NDSS Fellowship (2025), first place in the SIGMOD Student Research Competition (2023), Grand Finals Candidacy for the ACM Student Research Competition (2024), and the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Prize at the National University of Singapore (NUS) (2023). Prior to MIT, Xiaochen graduated with double honors degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from NUS, both with highest distinction. He has also gained industry experience through internships at Apple (2025) and TikTok (2022).
