About

Sanket is a fifth-year Ph.D. student at Harvard University, advised by Prof. Milind Tambe. His research focuses on Decision-Focused Learning, a way to improve the performance of machine learning models in algorithmic decision-making by tailoring them to their downstream decision-making use cases. He is particularly interested in applying these ideas to the domain of Public Health. Specifically, he aims to create technology that empowers public health organizations to maximize the impact of their limited intervention resources. In collaboration with ARMMAN, an Indian NGO that uses mobile health programs to improve maternal and neonatal health, Sanket has helped develop an intervention planning system that has been deployed in the field and impacted the lives of more than 350,000 women.
