Akshara Prabhakar is a second-year Computer Science Masters student at Princeton University, advised by Dr. Karthik Narasimhan. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from NITK Surathkal, India, where she stood out as the top-performing student. With a focus on Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Big Data Systems, Akshara's research has led to publications in domains spanning interactive code and dialogue generation, cross-lingual information extraction, and healthcare analytics at top conferences such as AAAI, NAACL and NeurIPS. She enjoys solving real-world tasks through applied ML research, gaining rich experience interning as an Applied Scientist at Microsoft and Amazon Science and Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs and Samsung Research. Her long-term objective is to responsibly leverage the vast data available to tackle socially impactful challenges.
