Ticha is a Ph.D. student at MIT advised by Stefanie Mueller. She received her B.F.A. in Art and M.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a Phi Beta Kappa member and MIT Stata Presidential Fellow. At Carnegie Mellon, she served on the Dean Search Committee for the School of Computer Science and was part of the organizational committee on the 2019 ACM Symposium on Computational Fabrication. Her research at MIT focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), where she uses her hybrid expertise to develop systems that support creatives. Her research has been published in premier HCI venues, such as the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems and the ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology, and has been featured in various mediaoutlets including Engadget, Digital Trends, and SYFY Wire. Her illustration work has been featured in a book published by the Oxford University Press.
