Masahiro Sato received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Currently, he is a graduate student in the University of Tokyo. He has been engaged in research on electrical insulation of power modules. In his Ph.D. research, he has started to apply quantum chemical calculations, in studying high electric field phenomena in gaseous, liquid, and solid electrical insulators. He has published 7 international (published in Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, Applied Physics Letters, and the Journal of Physical Chemistry C) and 7 domestic (published in the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan) journal papers, numerous international conference proceedings, including 7 peer-reviewed conference (5 IEEE-sponsored conferences, International Conference on High Voltage Engineering, and International Conference on Gas Discharges and Their Applications), was awarded 11 times, and has applied for two patents.
