Lily Tsai is pursuing a joint Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science at Harvard. Lily currently does research as part of an MIT-Harvard team designing a software transactional memory, STO (Software Transactional Objects), and has done projects ranging in scope from investigating poker-playing strategies with evolutionary algorithms to creating a debugging harness for C++ interfaces. Lily has been a Teaching Fellow for introductory and systems computer science classes at Harvard, providing section materials for other Teaching Fellows as well as instructing students. She interned and later contracted for Thumbtack Inc., during which she became the company's expert on the Go programming language and managed the company's infrastructure on AWS. An avid violinist, Lily leads the River Charles Ensemble, a conductorless orchestra, and performs in smaller ensembles around campus. She enjoys organizing classical concerts for the undergraduate houses and performing for faculty dinners and house events.
