Jennifer Olsen is a 5th year PhD student in the Carnegie Mellon University Human-Computer Interaction Institute. She holds a BS in Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University. After college, Jennifer worked at The Vanguard Group as a developer before starting her PhD focusing on the learning sciences as a Program in Interdisciplinary Educational Research (PIER) Fellow. Jennifer has authored or co-authored numerous papers at top venues and co-organized an academic workshop. In addition to her academics, Jennifer has participating in mentoring within her university and in the broader community through programs such as women@scs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
