Harshitha is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Laxmikant V. Kale. Her research focuses on developing scalable load balancing algorithms and adaptive run time techniques to improve the performance of large scale dynamic applications. Her research covers performance optimizations of cosmology simulation application called ChaNGa, which is a collaborative research project between PPL and astrophysicists at University of Washington.
Harshitha received her MS degree in Computer Science from UIUC. Before joining the University of Illinois for her graduate studies, she worked at Google India. She is a recipient of 2014 ACM/IEEE-CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship and Google Anita Borg Scholarship 2014. She is passionate about teaching and volunteers for activities involved in spreading education.
