Guiyong Wu received his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University in 2014. He is now a masters student in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, China. His current research interests include network storage and distributed systems, and has published two papers in TOC and TPDS journals. More specifically, Guiyong investigated the online scaling of RAID, and proposed an efficient approach to accelerating RAID scaling by using lightweight data reorganization. In addition, Guiyong analyzed and studied the erasure codes, and proposed an efficient Cauchy coding approach for cloud storage, and implemented the approach in the Hadoop distributed file system. Outside of research work, Guiyong is also active in social work, and has taken several leadership roles, including the vice-monitor in his class, the video group leader of Publicity Center of the department, and a member of the Council of Tsinghua University Alumni Association.
