Eli Marschner is a masters student in the Stanford computer science department. He’s specializing in HCI, with tendencies towards data visualization, online collaboration, and musical interaction. While at Stanford he’s worked on projects ranging from visualizing geographic patterns of software development on github, interfaces for mixing and spatializing audio with haptic feedback, and using social media + visualization to encourage consensus on controversial issues (e.g. government budgeting). He’s from New York City and has lived in France, London, and the Boston/Cambridge area, where he went to Tufts for undergrad (CS, math, physics), and worked at a since-acquired software company called Endeca for a few years. He escaped the east coast on a cross-country motorcycle trip and hasn’t looked back.
