Anirudh Badam is a Researcher at Microsoft Research, Redmond in the distributed systems group. He previously obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2012. His research interests include networked-server resource consolidation and integration of non-volatile memory into operating systems. One of his research projects, HashCache, that reduces the high memory requirements of cache indexes useful for various networked systems was selected as one of the Top 10 Emerging Technologies of 2009 by the MIT's Technology Review Magazine. His most
recent project, called SSDAlloc, that transparently integrates flash memory in networked-servers is being adopted by various companies including Fusion-io which uses a version of SSDAlloc in their software product lineup. Prior to his Ph.D studies, Anirudh obtained an M.A in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2008 and a B.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2006.
