Sim Blaustein recently co-founded High Line Venture Partners, an early stage investment fund based in NYC and backed by IAC. He invests $50-250K in exceptional teams building companies in consumer Internet, digital media and mobile. Prior to starting High Line, Sim was a Senior Director of Strategy and M&A at IAC. In addition to evaluating potential acquisition and investment opportunities, he focused on internal corporate strategy for the portfolio of web businesses.
While pursuing his MBA at Sloan, he interned at Akamai in Corporate Development, helping them start a strategic venture program. As Managing Director of the MIT Venture Capital & Private Equity club, was one of the organizers of MIT's annual VC conference. For fun, Sim co-hosted Sloan's annual Follies show.
Prior to Sloan he was an Associate at Gabriel Venture Partners, an early-stage VC firm in Silicon Valley, where he focused on wireless, semiconductors, and enterprise IT. There, he worked on 17 investments, including 3 successful M&As (Netscaler, Iridigm and Crossmedia) and 3 IPOs on the Indian stock exchange.
In addition to 3 years in VC, he spent 4 years in the communications and networking field through several years of working and consulting for technology companies. Prior to Gabriel, Sim was a management consultant with R.B. Webber & Co. Prior to R.B. Webber, he was a product manager with TollBridge Technologies, a VoIP startup. Before joining TollBridge, he was in product marketing at PairGain Technologies, later acquired by ADC Telecommunications.
