After completing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Allison and her family moved to St. Paul, MN, where she worked in the defense sector, writing machine learning algorithms in such arenas as bioterrorism defense and unmanned aerial vehicles mission planning, as well as working in information assurance.
More recently, she has founded the Middle School Mathematics Institute, a not for profit corporation aimed at improving mathematics education in grades 4-8, helping parents, schools, and teachers build the bridge to Algebra. MSMI concentrates on teaching school mathematics content at a deeper level, so teachers and schools can provide coherent, precise mathematics to students in an age appropriate way.
MSMI held its first week long institute in summer 2010, and will hold its second in summer of 2011. Anyone interested in more info, please contact me!
