Amy received a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering: Pre-medical at the University of California, San Diego in 2006. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Andrew D. McCulloch, Dr. Robert S. Ross, and Dr. Michael W. Berns on her project, 'Vinculin and Talin in Cardiomyocyte Adhesion and Integrity,' in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on studying the roles of vinculin and talin in cardiac mechanotransduction and in heart failure. Over the years, she has developed a strong interest in translational cardiovascular research and hopes to pursue these interests through the development of therapeutics and diagnostics.
