Ameya has conducted research in various disciplines, such as image processing. Also, he has conducted research in the fields of combinatorial and analytical number theories and has authored a paper which was accepted for publication in Annals of Combinatorics. This summer, he is doing research dealing with representation theory. In addition to research, Ameya has been employed by Harvard as a course assistant for its undergraduate abstract algebra class. Prior to that, he worked as a French tutor as well as a writer, for CollegeBoard's MyRoad project, a college and career planning website. He has also taken many leadership roles during his college years. He served as president of Harvard Dharma, the Hindu student group, as outreach chair and dean of the music school of Harvard Sangeet, a music group, and as secretary of Harvard Dynamo, a science organization.
