About

Lawson is a first year Ph.D. student at MIT CSAIL, specializing in artificial intelligence. He currently works on decision-theoretic planning under uncertainty and partial observability, but will likely branch out into different directions in the near future. Ultimately, he hopes to study learning and intelligence from a computational perspective. Previously, he obtained his B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Stanford University, where he worked on 'teaching' the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Robot how to grasp general objects. Motivated by his experiences as a teaching assistant, he ultimately wants to pursue a career in teaching and research. Prior, Lawson spent his entire life in Hong Kong.
