About

After his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, Ryan spent a year as a mortgage underwriter. In 2005, he joined the Peace Corps in Jamaica as a community environmental health advisor, where he taught classes; established a computer lab, which provided high-speed wireless internet access to a village without a phone line; and built the infrastructure for a potable water pipeline. Ryan also started an eco-tourism business, The Original Trails of the Maroons. Upon returning to the U.S., he worked as a Credit Analyst for the North American Division of BG Group before coming to Chicago Booth. At the Booth School of Business, he is a co-chair of the Energy Group and the Chicago African Business Group, and the Managing Editor and Alternative Energy Columnist for Booth’s student paper, Chicago Business.
