In 2009 Ryan received his Ph.D. in Physics from MIT. Previously he received Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Science and Engineering and Physics, as well as a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, all from MIT. Currently, he is a NASA Postdoctoral Fellow, studying the detection of gravitational waves at the Goddard Space Flight Center.
