Siebel Scholars Foundation Seeks Video Editor

The Siebel Scholars Foundation ( is looking for someone to help us edit video footage from our conferences and regional events on an as-needed, freelance basis.

Siebel Scholars conferences and regional events bring our current Siebel Scholars and alumni together with some of the most brilliant minds in the world to discuss and debate critical social issues and to develop innovative solutions to society's most pressing needs.  Our freelance video editor will help current Siebel Scholars -- and, eventually the public -- access incredible footage -- think Benjamin Netanyahu and Norman Schwartzkopf discussing global terrorism just months after 9/11 at our November 2001 Conference, or behind the scenes footage at Dr. Irv Weissman's cutting edge stem cell research lab. Final products may be distributed on our own private community and public sites, as well as third party sites like Flickr, YouTube, etc.
Our video editor will:
- have extensive knowledge of Final Cut Pro and other video and audio editing, compression, captioning, and export software
- create and/or edit pre- and post- roll segments
- have a good understanding of and be able to optimize video for search engine results
- be able to clean up audio on the footage as well as the video as appropriate
- work efficiently and effectively, with experience completing projects on time and within budget
- have excellent communication skills - and a good sense of humor is a plus
- be willing to work in our downtown Palo Alto offices as needed (local candidates only, sorry)
- have a portfolio of past work and references upon request
