Perhaps nothing illustrates the vitality of the Siebel Scholars Community quite as well as our annual conferences. Every year, scholars—both current students and alumni—come together with some of the most brilliant minds in the world to see what innovative solutions they can devise for society's most vexing issues.

The 2007 Siebel Scholars Conference will focus on one of the most important and pressing challenges of our time, the Economics of Alternative Energy. Hosted by the University of California, Berkeley—home to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory— the 2007 conference will bring together political, academic, and business leaders whose wisdom and expertise will lend insight into this cultural revolution.

The weekend long conference will take place October 26 - 28. The conference will begin with a welcome reception and dinner at the Claremont Resort & Spa. Saturday, October 27, will begin with a morning panel discussion on global warming and the effects of carbon emissions at the University of California, Berkeley. An afternoon panel, following a luncheon at the Hearst Mining Building, will focus on the sources of alternative energy. Both panels will be moderated by Emmy award winning journalist, Sam Donaldson. Saturday evening guests will find entertainment across the Bay with dinner, dancing, and a performance by special guest Buddy Guy.

Attendees of the 2007 conference will find accommodations at the Claremont Resort & Spa. Please see below for an outline of the conference agenda.

We look forward to seeing you in Berkeley this fall.
