A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tom Siebel understands that the powerful energy created by a collaborative group of talented people can achieve greater things than individuals acting alone. The Siebel Scholars Community is the program’s centerpiece. What better way to prepare ourselves for future business and societal challenges than by bringing some of the most imaginative and brilliant problem-solvers in the world together in a leadership forum?

As future leaders in the fields of computer science and business, Siebel Scholars will directly influence the technologies, policies, and economic and social decisions that shape the future. Here’s what we’re doing to help them.

Siebel Scholars Web Site

This Web site provides the virtual community where Siebel Scholars can stay in touch with each other throughout the year. We provide regular updates about upcoming and previous conferences, highlight accomplishments of all Siebel Scholars, and supply the tools that enable scholars and faculty to easily contact one another.

The Siebel Scholars Annual Conference

Every year, Siebel Scholars—both current students and alumni—gather to study in depth important worldwide issues and work to find solutions for them. They are joined by distinguished subject matter experts, opinion leaders, and government officials with whom they can share their views and observations. Past conferences have welcomed such world leaders as former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich; former CIA Director Robert Gates; General Barry McCaffrey, international affairs expert and NBC News military correspondent; Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, executive director of the Association in Defense of the Wrongly Convicted; and Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister of Israel.

Community and Networking

The conference provides students a chance to network with each other, Tom Siebel, and world thought-leaders, thereby building an unparalleled professional network. Many Siebel Scholars build their conference networks up to the start of their careers, and then add even more contacts throughout the following years. Several of these connections among scholars and conference participants have led to job offers and relationships that have enhanced their leadership capabilities as professionals across the globe.

“For me, the highlight
of being a Siebel Scholar is the conferences. Incredible speakers, great food, but most importantly, the opportunity to meet my fellow Scholars, who are a pretty amazing group.”

Class of 2001
