2009 - Allana Jackson

A third-grade teacher’s influence ultimately set Allana on a course for Harvard and then Northwestern University.  There, she gained greater insight into global social issues and a passion for social impact that has taken her from Atlanta to Africa.

As a new associate at Bain & Company, Allana helped found Impact Atlanta, an initiative to help local nonprofits apply business strategy to increase their effectiveness.  She continued to advise nonprofit clients how best to apply business discipline, during her tenure at The Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit consultancy founded by former Bain associates.

Throughout her graduate studies, Allana remained steadfast in her commitment to social issues.  During the second of two stints at One Acre Fund, a nonprofit serving farming families in Kenya and Rwanda, Allana worked to develop strategies for finding the sources of malnutrition, introducing health intervention services—such as vitamin supplements—effectively, and expanding those services quickly.  Her graduate work earned first place in the Intersections International Nonprofit Case Competition, as well as partner and steering committee positions in neighborhood business, education and global health initiatives.

Allana has rejoined Bain & Company in Chicago and in the long term, she anticipates her career will address causes related to youth education, the criminal justice system, or international issues.
