2002 - Amar Shah

In today’s world of corporate stress, Amar is taking a more constructive approach to restructuring – and saving jobs in the process.  As a Senior Principal at Keystone Group, a Chicago-based consulting firm, Amar works with struggling mid-sized companies to turn around operations and implement plans for ongoing profitability.

Amar was born in the United States and then moved to India when he was 9 years old.  He returned to the United States in high school and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, after which he worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for several years designing tires for various racing applications—including those used in NASCAR and the 24 hours of LeMans— as well as for high performance street cars, such as Ferrari.  He also spent 16 months in Chile while at Goodyear to help start up production of race tires in South America.
After Goodyear, Amar earned an MBA at Kellogg and built a solid foundation in business, allowing him to find a post-graduate role at Keystone that combines his interests in finance and operations, requires continuous learning and variety, and provides opportunities for immediate and positive impact.  In addition to actively leading projects in the turnaround and mergers and acquisitions practices, Amar is spearheading Keystone’s efforts to leverage its experience and expand its presence in the principal investing space.
When not working, Amar enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 ½ year old daughter, and 1 year old son.  His interests include motorcycling, running, investments, and reading.
